The Role of Civil Society Organizations in Nurturing Trust through Media and Information Literacy (MIL).

As part of the celebration of Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2022 (24- 31 October 2022), Bangladesh Institute for Information Literacy and Sustainable Development (BIILSD) organized a Webinar on The Role of Civil Society Organizations in Nurturing Trust through Media and Information Literacy (MIL)

The Keynote Speaker of the webinar was Dr. Jagtar Singh, Professor, University Librarian, and Director, International Students Division, Guru Kashi University, Punjab, India and UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Expert, Member, UNESCO MIL Alliance, and the UNESCO MILID University Network. Dr. M Aslam Alam, Chairman, BIILSD chaired the webinar. At the onset of the webinar, Dr. Dilara Begum, Secretary General (Honorary), BIILSD provided her welcome speech. The Keynote Speaker talked about “Salient Features of the UNESCO Model MIL Curriculum for Educators and Learners” and focused on the theme of the webinar.

The webinar concluded with remarks from the program Chair Dr. M Aslam Alam, highlighting the challenges of nurturing trust and the necessity of practicing MIL for civil society. He thanked the Keynote Speaker for his informative speech and also thanked audience for their engaging participation. 

Around 60 participants joined this webinar and shared their opinions and queries in the Q&A session. The participation of the audiences made the webinar interactive and successful.
